Sicario: Day of the Soldado composer to score DC’s Joker movie

August 27, 2018 by Gary Collinson

It’s not only the cast of the Joker movie that is coming together, as Film Music Reporter has revealed that DC Films and director Todd Phillips has enlisted Icelandic composer Hildur Guðnadóttir to score the Clown Prince of Crime’s standalone origin film.

Guðnadóttir’s previous scores include A Hijacking, The Oath, Mary Magdalene and Sicario: Day of the Soldado, while she has also contributed to the music for the likes of Prisoners, The Revenant and Arrival.

Joker is described as a gritty character study and cautionary tale about a man’s descent into madness after being disregarded by society. Joaquin Phoenix is taking on the role of The Joker, while the cast also includes  Zazie Beetz (Deadpool 2), Robert De Niro (Goodfellas), Frances Conroy (American Horror Story) and Marc Meron (GLOW).
