The 1999 psychological thriller The Bone Collector is joining the ever-expanding list of feature films to receive a small screen adaptation, with Variety reporting that NBC has bought a script for a TV series from VJ Boyd and Mark Bianculli.
Based on the 1997 book by Jeffery Deaver, The Bone Collector follows Lincoln Rhyme, “a retired genius forensic criminologist left paralyzed after an accident on the job. When a harrowing case brings him back to the force, Rhyme partners up with an ambitious young detective, Amelia Sachs, to take down some of the most dangerous criminals in the U.S.”
The 1999 movie was directed by Phillip Noyce (Patriot Games) and saw Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie taking on the roles of Rhyme and Sachs. It was a solid hit at the box office, grossing $151.5 million.
