Rumoured character breakdowns for Marvel’s The Eternals surface online

November 18, 2018 by Gary Collinson

After unveiling some alleged character breakdowns for the Black Widow movie a few days ago, That Hashtag Show has now turned its attention to another of Marvel Studios’ Phase Four projects in the cosmic ensemble The Eternals.

According to the site, Marvel is currently casting twelve roles including Elysisus, The Forgotten One, Ikaris, Makkari, Sersi, Eros (a.k.a. Starfox, the brother of Thanos), Thena and Zuras, along with an unnamed ‘Greek God’, which common sense would suggest is Hercules.

Furthermore, the report goes on to state that the search is also underway for an actor to play Druig, who will serve as the main villain of the movie, as well as two female leads in ‘Karen’ and ‘Piper’, which the site believes are codenames for as-yet-unrevealed characters.

There are of course some obscure names in there, most of whom will be unfamiliar to all but the most hardened of comic book fans, although Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige has recently brushed aside any concerns about a lack of established audience recognition, citing Guardians of the Galaxy as a past example of Marvel successfully launching a lesser-known property. If you are however interested in learning more about the characters, That Hashtag Show’s report does have a nice little breakdown of each.

Recent rumours have suggested that Marvel is looking to begin production on The Eternals in September 2019, ahead of a release in November 2020.
