Mortal Kombat 11 announced at The Game Awards 2018

December 7, 2018 by EJ Moreno

NetherRealm Studios is returning with Mortal Kombat 11. Announced by series co-creator Ed Boone at the 2018 Video Games Awards, this entry in the long-running franchise premiered with a gory new trailer. This first look at the upcoming game features Raiden fighting two different versions of Scorpion. Check out the trailer here…

It looks like the game might take a page from NetherRealm Studios’ companion DC and dive into a multi-verse story. With 11 entries and a few reboots along the way, this is a perfect move to keep the franchise fresh. MK11 is following the massively successful Mortal Kombat X, a fantastic reinvention of the fighting series that saw the likes of Leatherface, Alien, and Jason Voorhees as playable characters.

Mortal Kombat 11 is released on April 23rd, 2019. There is a reveal event on January 17, 2019, as well. If you pre-order the game on December 7th, you get beta access and playable character Shao Kahn. Will you be picking up this upcoming fighting game? Let us know in the comments below…
