Peter Dinklage and Matt Reeves team for comic book adaptation Last Sons of America

February 9, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage is teaming with Matt Reeves (War for the Planet of the Apes) for a feature film adaptation of the Boom! Studios comic book series Last Sons of America, which will be produced for Netflix.

Created by Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Matthew Dow Smith, The Last Sons of America takes place in a near-future America where the population are no longer able to conceive, and children are now a highly valuable commodity around the globe.

Dinklage will play Julian, who along with his brother Jackie operates an adoption agency in Colombia, dealing with families who wish to send their children to America. However, when the brothers suddenly find themselves with their backs against the wall, Jackie makes a grave mistake that sends them spiraling into a dark mystery at the root of their world’s status quo.

The Last Sons of America is being written and directed by Josh Mond (James White), while Dinklage and Reeves are producing through their Estuary Films and 6th & Idaho banners respectively.

Dinklage will soon be seen reprising his role as Tyrion Lannister in the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones when it gets underway on HBO in April, while Matt Reeves continues to work on refining his script for The Batman, which has recently lost Ben Affleck, but gained a 2021 release date.
