Chris Evans reveals his favourite Captain America moment from the entire MCU

April 2, 2019 by Gary Collinson

There’s a lot of speculation – bordering on expectation, really – that the upcoming Avengers: Endgame could mark the final outing for Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Evans made his MCU debut back in 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger, and has made the role of Steve Rogers his own, delivering a host of memorable moments throughout his various appearances in the Captain America and Avengers movies – not least the elevator fight scene in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which Evans has revealed to be his personal favourite.

“I’m partial to that fight scene in the elevator,” said Evans in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “That was the first scene we shot in the second Captain America movie. It was my first time working with the Russos; it was the first time where it felt like Cap was kind of on his own. In the first Cap movie, you know, you really felt like everyone was holding my hand and the first Avengers movie, I just did my best to not get in the way. The second Cap movie is the one that I really kind of felt, I suppose, pressure and that first elevator fight scene came out really great in my opinion.”

Do you agree with Evans’ choice, or is there another particular Captain America moment that stands out for you so far? And do you think Endgame will turn out to be Evans’ Steve Rogers swansong? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below or tweet us @FlickeringMyth…

The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”

Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Josh Brolin (Thanos), Brie Larson (Captain Marvel), Paul Rudd (Scott Lang), Don Cheadle (War Machine), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Tom Holland (Spider-Man), Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Paul Bettany (Vision), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witc h), Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), Benedict Wong (Wong), Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Dave Bautista (Drax), Bradley Cooper (Rocket), Vin Diesel (Groot), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Gwyneth Paltrow (Pepper Potts), Evangeline Lilly (The Wasp), Letitia Wright (Shuri), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Jon Favreau (Happy Hogan), Tilda Swinton (The Ancient One) and Frank Grillo (Crossbones), as well as Hiroyuki Sanada (The Wolverine) and Katherine Langford (13 Reasons Why).
