From Mr. Universe to Terminator to Governor to Celebrity Apprentice – NBC has announced that action superstar Arnold Schwarzenegger is to become the new “boss” on their hugely successful reality show.
Set to utter his True Lies line of “You’re Fired!” a few more times, the Terminator Genisys will replace former “boss” Donald Trump next year. Trump parted ways with NBC after making some derogatory comments about immigrants in June, and has since become a candidate for the Republican party’s presidential nomination.
NBC said that Schwarzengger’s “personal passion” for the show was what led them to hiring him, and that his “fresh take… made him the man to hire” for the new series.
Sir Alan Sugar is the star of the non-celebrity version in the UK, with the US show involving celebrities taking part as teams in various business tasks, with one let go after each episode with the famous words “You’re Fired!” – talk about a perfect role for the Austrian!
