Marvel’s Ant-Man reached a box office milestone this weekend, with the superhero origin story crossing $400 million worldwide. By close of play yesterday, Ant-Man had earned $177.6 domestically, with a further $223.8 million from international markets giving it $401.4 million and counting.
In terms of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Ant-Man has surpassed both The Incredible Hulk ($263.4 million) and Captain America: The First Avenger ($370.6 million), and with the film set to open in China next month, it should find itself overtaking 2011’s Thor ($449.3 million) in the coming weeks.
