Original writer David Koepp is working on Indiana Jones 5 once again

September 29, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Having been replaced on the script for Indiana Jones 5 by Solo: A Star Wars Story co-writer Jonathan Kasdan last summer, Spider-Man screenwriter David Koepp has revealed to Den of Geek that he’s now back working on the sequel.

“I actually am again,” said Koepp when asked by the site about his involvement on Indy’s fifth big screen adventure. “I’m working on it again. We’re still trying. And I think we’ve got a good idea this time. We’ll see.”

Indiana Jones 5 is set to reunite director Steven Spielberg with star Harrison Ford, for what Spielberg has said will be Ford’s final outing in the role, although it seems no further along at this point than it was when it was first officially announced by Disney back in 2016.

The movie was originally slated for release in 2019, before being pushed back to 2020, and then 2021 after Spielberg opted to shoot his musical West Side Story as his next project. Ford has recently suggested that filming will get underway in 2020, although we certainly wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up being delayed again.
