Doom Patrol adds Karen Obilom in a recurring role

February 16, 2020 by Gary Collinson

Deadline is reporting that DC Universe’s live-action Doom Patrol series has cast Karen Obilom (Games People Play) in a recurring role for its second season.

The actress is set to portray Roni Evers, described as “a military veteran with a mysterious past who Vic Stone/Cyborg (Jovian Wade) meets while attending a PTSD support group.”

Although unconfirmed, it seems likely that Obilom is portraying a gender-swapped version of the DC comic book universe’s Ron Evers, a childhood friend of Vic’s turned foe, who also happens to find himself transformed into a cyborg at the hands of S.T.A.R. Labs.

Doom Patrol was renewed for a second season last summer, but as yet there’s been no word as to when we can expect it to premiere. It has been confirmed however that Jovian Wade (Cyborg), Diane Guerrero (Crazy Jane), Brendan Fraser (Robotman), April Bowlby (Elasti-Girl, Matt Bomer (Negative Man) and Timothy Dalton (The Chief) will be reprising their roles.
