Original X-Force director reveals his cancelled trilogy plans

March 3, 2020 by Samuel Brace

Jeff Wadlow, the original director for Fox’s cancelled X-Force film, has revealed his plans for a trilogy.

Before Deadpool became a global box office success, Fox had plans to produce a trilogy of X-Force films. Kick Ass 2‘s Jeff Wadlow was lined up to direct but after Deadpool hit the big time, the films were cancelled.

What would have Wadlow’s trilogy been like? Well, the director has revealed the details to ComicBookMovie:

“I plotted out this three-movie arc that took X-Force from what it was in the 90s with Rob Liefeld with a band of kids fighting for what they believe in. And then by the third film, the group would have grown and changed and lost and picked up some new members, and basically turned into Rick Remender’s version of the X-Force in the early 2000s. That was a much darker hit squad and black ops team who had lost their way over the course of the three films.”

Of course, now Disney owns the rights to these characters because of their purchase of Fox. Do you like the sound of this X-Force trilogy? Let us know in the comments below or on our social channels @FlickeringMyth…
