First look at Netflix’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy vs. the Reverend

April 16, 2020 by EJ Moreno

The wild, hilarious world of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is back at Netflix. A little over a year after the series wrapped, a new interactive special is coming to the streamer and Netflix has revealed that the special, titled Kimmy vs. the Reverend, will arrive on the platform on May 12th.

“Kimmy Schmidt (Ellie Kemper) sets off on her biggest adventure yet. Three states! Explosions! A dancing hamburger! And you, the viewer, get to decide how the story goes. Will you foil the Reverend’s (Jon Hamm) evil plan and get Kimmy to her wedding on time? Or will you accidentally start a war against the robots? So grab your remote and a tray of delicious scrod, ‘cause Kimmy’s got her own Netflix interactive special!”

The story is said to follow Ellie Kemper’s Kimmy, plus Burgess’ Titus, Jane Krakowski’s Jacqueline, and Carol Kane’s Lillian, on their road to track down the man who held Kimmy captive in a bunker for 15 years (played by returning Jon Hamm).

Check out the first look photos below, as well as a teaser of things to come…

Kimmy vs. the Reverend sees an all-star cast of Ellie Kemper, Tituss Burgess, Jane Krakowski, Carol Kane, Daniel Radcliffe, Jon Hamm, Sara Chase, Lauren Adams, Donna Maria, Amy Sedaris, Michael Carlsen, Fred Armisen, Chris Parnell, Jack McBrayer, and Johnny Knoxville.
