Netflix’s Lucifer season 6 officially begins filming

October 7, 2020 by Liam Waddington

Earlier this year, it was announced that Netflix’s Lucifer was among the many films and TV shows that had to halt production due to the ongoing global health crisis. However, it seems like filming on the series is in full swing with production on season six officially underway.

Taking to Twitter, series co-showrunner Joe Henderson revealed that filming on Season 5 Part 2 has finished up and the cast and crew have begun filming the sixth and final season of Lucifer – which will consist of 10 episodes.

Today is our first day of shooting #Lucifer season 6! So happy we've finished up season 5, and we will be working our buns off to get it finished and to Netflix! Thanks to our incredible cast and crew for working hard and safe and delivering a kickass finale!!

“Today is our first day of shooting Lucifer season 6!” Henderson wrote. “So happy we’ve finished up season 5, and we will be working our buns off to get it finished and to Netflix! Thanks to our incredible cast and crew for working hard and safe and delivering a kickass finale!!”

Lucifer Season 5 Part 1, which is now streaming on Netflix and consists of eight episodes, picks up with Lucifer Morningstar still ruling over Hell until his twin brother Michael emerges and begins to cause havoc for Lucifer’s life on Earth. There is currently no news on when Season 5 Part 2 will debut on Netflix.

Lucifer, bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the gorgeous, shimmering insanity of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals.

Lucifer is created by showrunners Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson and stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, Rachael Harris, DB Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Aimee Garcia, Tricia Helfer, Scarlett Estevez, and Kevin Alejandro.
