Ridley Scott and Noah Hawley team for Alien TV series

December 10, 2020 by Gary Collinson

During Disney’s Investor Day virtual presentation, it has been announced that Ridley Scott is set for a return to the Alien universe for a brand new TV series at FX.

Scott is set to team with Fargo and Legion creator Noah Hawley on the live-action series, the franchise’s first foray onto the small screen, and while details are scarce at present the show will take place on planet Earth and promises to mix the horror of Scott’s original Alien with the action of James Cameron’s sequel Aliens.

Alien is currently in development at @FXNetworks. The first TV series based on the classic film series is helmed by Fargo and Legion's @noahhawley. Expect a scary thrill ride set not too far in the future here on Earth. pic.twitter.com/KBigUGnXpB

The rights to the Alien franchise moved to Disney following the Mouse House’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox. News of the TV series comes just days after the Disney-owned Marvel announced the upcoming launch of a new Alien comic book series this March.
