Video Review – Antlers is too messy and too problematic to work

October 29, 2021 by EJ Moreno

EJ Moreno with a review of the new horror film Antlers…

Antlers is a long-delayed horror film by producer Guillermo del Toro and director Scott Cooper. While critic EJ Moreno feels the creature design and horror scenes were effective, the overly-serious tone and dated horror tropes weigh it down. Can the powers of good acting performances in a mediocre movie carry it to being a serviceable Halloween viewing?

Antlers is a mixed bag, and see where you land on this polarizing new horror film. Are you a fan or do you side with EJ on this? Watch his review below, and be sure to follow us on YouTube for more reviews, exclusive interviews, and other video content…

In ANTLERS, a small-town Oregon teacher (Keri Russell) and her brother (Jesse Plemons), the local sheriff, discover that a young student (Jeremy T. Thomas) is harboring a dangerous secret with frightening consequences.

The film features a cast that includes Keri Russell, Jesse Plemons, Jeremy T. Thomas, JT Corbitt, Graham Greene, Scott Haze, Rory Cochrane, and Amy Madigan.

Antlers is set to hit US theatres on October 29th.
