Amazon cancels I Know What You Did Last Summer after a single season

January 10, 2022 by Ricky Church

Amazon has cancelled its horror series I Know What You Did Last Summer after one season, Deadline has revealed.

The series was based on the 1973 book of the same name by Lois Duncan. It followed a group of high schoolers who are being targeted by a mysterious person who knows of a tragic incident they were involved with the previous summer which they chose to hide. I Know What You Did Last Summer premiered in October to mixed reviews.

The series is also based on the 1997 adaptation I Know What You did Last Summer which starred Jennifer Love Hewitt, Freddie Prince Jr., Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Phillipe. It re-envisioned the story as a horror slasher film and was successful enough to spawn the sequel I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.

One year after the fatal car accident that haunted their graduation night, a group of teenagers find themselves bound together by a dark secret and stalked by a brutal killer. As they try to piece together who’s after them, they reveal the dark side of their seemingly perfect town—and themselves. Everyone is hiding something, and uncovering the wrong secret could be deadly.

I Know What You Did Last Summer stars Madison Iseman, Brianne Tju, Ezekiel Goodman, Ashley Moore, Sebastian Amoruso, Fiona Rene, Cassie Beck, Brooke Bloom, Bill Heck. Sonya Balmores and Spencer Sutherland.
