On The Count of Three trailer puts a dark comedy spin on mental health

April 27, 2022 by EJ Moreno

Jerrod Carmichael is having quite the moment. Not only did the actor publicly come out in his comedy special, Rothaniel, on Netflix, but his directorial debut is finally set for release.

On The Count of Three, the Sundance darling from 2021, is dropped its official first trailer. Using the tagline “It’s a great day to be alive,” the film follows two young men as they go on a wacky mission to take their own lives. Jerrod Carmichael stars alongside Christopher Abbott in this dark comedy, which we called “one of darkest movies in quite some time” during our review. The film will debut via Annapurna Pictures on May 13th.
