HBO Max’s Father of the Bride reboot gets a trailer

May 10, 2022 by Matt Rodgers

Like that divorcee who just keeps on getting hitched, 1950’s Spencer Tracy and Elizabeth Taylor comedy Father of the Bride has been remade once again.

Following Steve Martin’s 1990’s smash-hit and so-so sequel, walking down the aisle on this occasion are Adria Arjona (Morbius) and Diego Boneta (Scream Queens), along with their beleaguered parents, this time played by Andy Garcia (The Untouchables) and Gloria Estefan (Music of the Heart).

Check out the trailer here…

Billy (Andy Garcia) and Ingrid (Gloria Estefan) are surprised when their eldest daughter Sofia (Adria Arjona) comes home to Miami for a visit, announcing a new boyfriend, Adan (Diego Boneta)—who is now her fiancé—and their plans for a wedding and a new life together in Mexico. Family relationships are tested as the roller coaster ride of wedding planning races toward the altar. This sparkling story of a modern rom-com updated from a timeless classic illustrates the surprising and funny ways the heart can adapt in the name of love.

Father of the Bride asks you to RSVP before June 16th, when it begins streaming on HBO Max.
