Parasite’s Song Kang-ho stars in the trailer for Brokers, the new film from Shoplifters director Hirokazu Kore-eda

Ahead of its debut at the Cannes Film Festival , CJ ENM has released the trailer for Broker, the forthcoming South Korean drama from the critically acclaimed Japanese filmmaker Hirokazu Kore-eda, who won the Palme d’Or with 2018’s Shoplifters.

Broker is the story of two baby thieves who steal a child from a ‘baby box’, a place where people can anonymously leave their baby behind, but while they look to benefit financially by finding the child new parents, the mother has a change of heart and comes back for him, all while detectives watch their every movie. Starring Song Kang-ho (Parasite), Gang Dong-won (Train to Busan Presents: Peninsula), Bae Doona (Kingdom), Lee Joo-young (Times), and Lee Ji-eun (Hotel del Luna); you can check out the trailer below….

“Sanghyeon is always struggling from debt, and Dongsu works at a baby box facility. On a rainy night, they steal the baby Woosung, who was left in the baby box, to sell him at a good price. Meanwhile, detectives were watching, and they quietly track them down to capture the crucial evidence”

Broker will debut at Cannes, before being released in cinemas in South Korea on June 7th.
