Lionsgate returns to the Saw franchise for tenth instalment

August 18, 2022 by Gary Collinson

After reopening The Book of Saw for for Chris Rock’s Spiral, Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures have now announced a new entry in the mainline Saw franchise is set to go into production ahead of a Halloween 2023 release.

The as-yet-untitled tenth entry in the horror franchise will be directed by Kevin Greutert, who directed the highly regarded Saw VI and Saw: The Final Chapter, and edited Saw I through V and Jigsaw.

“We have been listening to what the fans have been asking for and are hard at work planning a movie that Saw aficionados and horror fans alike will love. And part of that is giving the reins to Kevin Greutert, director of Saw VI, which is still one of the fans’ favorites in the entire series. More details will be revealed soon.”

While plot details are being kept under wraps, the press release promises that “fans can be assured that the new film will capture their hearts – and other body parts – with all-new twisted, ingenious traps and a new mystery to solve.”
