The Umbrella Academy to see shortened final season

December 21, 2022 by EJ Moreno

The artful and strange Umbrella Academy is coming to a close, as Netflix will end the series after four seasons. But sadly, this will be the shortest season of the show yet.

A new rumor reported that The Umbrella Academy Season 4 would see a shortened episode count, going from ten to just six episodes.

All of the previous seasons ran for ten episodes, and series showrunner and executive producer Steve Blackman addressed the rumors.

Following the reports, Blackman confirmed the news via Twitter. The showrunner took to Twitter to address the situation, tweeting, “It’s true. But you’re going to love them.”

Fans were pushing for longer episodes to respond to the confirmation of only six episodes. Blackman did not address that, and the episodes’ length is currently unknown. We do know that the fourth and final season’s first episode is titled “The Unbearable Tragedy of Getting What You Want.”

Steve Blackman is still in good favor with Netflix, as he is signed a multi-year deal with Netflix. Blackman is expected to adapt the PlayStation video game Horizon: Zero Dawn for the streamer.

The Umbrella Academy stars Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, David Castaneda, Aidan Gallagher, and Colm Feore, alongside series newcomers Justin Cornwell, Britne Oldford, Jake Epstein, Genesis Rodriguez, and Cazzie David as The Sparrow Academy.

The Umbrella Academy is currently streaming on Netflix.
