Haunting new trailer for Andrew Scott and Paul Mescal’s critically acclaimed All of Us Strangers

December 7, 2023 by Matt Rodgers

Fresh from earning rave reviews on the festival circuit, including our own ★★★★★ take in which we called it “a gut-wrenching reflection on grief that will leave few dry eyes,” Searchlight Pictures has released a brand new trailer for All of Us Strangers, the romantic fantasy starring Andrew Scott and Paul Mescal.

Directed by Andrew Haigh, and loosely based on Taichi Yamada’s 1987 novel Strangers, the film tells the story of a man (Scott) who begins a relationship with his mysterious neighbour Harry (Mescal) from his near empty tower block, but Adam soon finds himself drawn back to his suburban childhood home, where he finds his parents are living just as they were they day they died three decades earlier. Also starring Jamie Bell and Claire Foy, you can check out the trailer below…

One night in his near-empty tower block in contemporary London, Adam (Andrew Scott) has a chance encounter with a mysterious neighbor Harry (Paul Mescal), which punctures the rhythm of his everyday life. As a relationship develops between them, Adam is preoccupied with memories of the past and finds himself drawn back to the suburban town where he grew up, and the childhood home where his parents (Claire Foy and Jamie Bell), appear to be living, just as they were on the day they died, 30 years before.

All of Us Strangers is out in cinemas on December 22nd in the US and on January 26th in the UK.
