Tiny Fey returns to television with The Four Seasons

January 10, 2024 by Ricky Church

Comedy favourite Tina Fey is returning to television in a leading role for The Four Seasons, a comedy she co-created alongside her 30 Rock collaborators Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield according to Deadline.

The Four Seasons will be based on the 1981 comedy which starred Alan Alda and Carol Burnett with Alda also having written and directed the film. It told the story of three couples who vacation together every season.

Fey will lead the series as well as write and executive produce alongside Fisher and Wigfield. Alda will also serve as a producer with Marissa Bregman while David Miner, Eric Gurian and Jeff Richmond will also executive produce. Fey’s Little Stranger Inc. will produce with Universal Television.

Netflix won the series in a bidding war against other studios. This continues a long partnership Fey has had with the streamer as they bought her series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt which ran for four seasons and an interactive movie finale as well as saving Girls5eva, which she executive produces, from cancellation. While Fey has made guest appearances in TV series like Kimmy Schmidt, Only Murders in the Building and Modern Love, this marks her first leading role since portraying Liz Lemon in 30 Rock which ended in 2013 after airing on NBC for seven seasons.
