Mark Ruffalo set to join Chris Hemsworth in Crime 101

May 23, 2024 by EJ Moreno

After the pair carried Thor: Ragnarok to new comedic heights for Marvel, Mark Ruffalo and Chris Hemsworth are looking to recapture that magic in a new drama.

Deadline reports that Ruffalo has entered talks to star in the Amazon MGM Studios adaptation of Don Winslow’s novella Crime 101., which also has Hemsworth attached to star. While there are little details at the time, the publishers’ summary reads:

A string of high-level jewel heists up and down the Pacific Coast Highway has gone unsolved for years, mostly because the perpetrator has lived by a strict code he calls Crime 101. Police attribute the thefts to the Colombian cartels. But Detective Lou Lubesnick’s gut says it’s the work of just one man. Now the lone-wolf jewel thief is looking for that fabled final last score, and Lou breaks all the rules of Crime 101.”

Bart Layton (American Animals) will direct the project, with Layton also penning the script with ‘contributions’ from Peter Straughan. The film is slated for release in theaters next year.
