Rian Johnson’s Wake Up Dead Man ensemble adds Thomas Haden Church

June 4, 2024 by Ricky Church

Rian Johnson is not done putting together his ensemble cast for the next Knives Out film Wake Up Dead Man. Per The Wrap, Thomas Haden Church (Spider-Man: No Way Home) is the latest to join Benoit Blanc’s next mystery.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery will feature Daniel Craig reprising his role as southern gentleman sleuth Benoit Blanc in a new case. While plot details are being kept secret, Johnson released an announcement teaser last week, narrated by Craig’s Blanc, stating it would be his most dangerous case yet so we can expect, as was the case with Knives Out and its sequel Glass Onion, more twists and turns from its star-studded cast.

Haden Church features in a cast that includes newcomers Josh O’Connor (Challengers), Cailee Spaeney (Civil War), Kerry Washington (Scandal), Andrew Scott (Ripley), Glenn Close (Fatal Attraction) and Jeremy Renner (Avengers: Endgame), Mila Kunis (That 70s Show) Daryl McCormack (Good Luck To You, Leo Grande) and Josh Brolin (Dune: Part Two).

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery heads into production this month in the UK and will be released some time in 2025.
