Gal Gadot to star in action thriller The Runner

November 14, 2024 by Gary Collinson

Deadline has revealed that Gal Gadot is set to star in The Runner, an action thriller from director Kevin Macdonald (The Last King of Scotland, The Mauritanian).

Scripted by Mark Gibson (The Wild, Snow Dogs), the film is set in London and will see the Wonder Woman star portraying a “a high-powered attorney who must race through London, following the cryptic commands of a mysterious Caller, as she fights against time to save her abducted son.

The Runner is being produced by former Universal, Film4 and Netflix executive David Kosse (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, All Quiet on the Western Front) and marks the first project from his new company Rockwood Pictures. Amazon MGM Studios has acquired worldwide distribution rights.

Gadot was last seen in the Netflix action thriller Heart of Stone; next up is her role as The Evil Queen in Disney’s live-action Snow White movie, while she remains attached to a new take on Cleopatra, although it’s been a while since we’ve last had an update on that project.
