Star Wars: Visions renewed for third season by Disney+

November 20, 2024 by Ricky Church

Originally published November 20, 2024. Updated November 21, 2024.

Disney and Lucasfilm have renewed the anime anthology Star Wars: Visions for a third season.

Premiering in 2021, Star Wars: Visions told several vastly different stories throughout the Star Wars galaxy and its timeline with each episode produced by a different Japanese studio. This made each installment of the series unique with its own visual styles, stories and characters.

Visions received a number of positive reviews from both critics and fans for its creativity. While not strictly canon with the rest of the Star Wars franchise, some of the anthology stories have been further developed in other media, such as the novel Star Wars: Ronin – A Visions Novel which expanded on the protagonist in season one’s short ‘The Duel’.

Season three will bring full production back to Japan after the second season featured a more international assembly of studios. The production companies developing stories for the upcoming season are David Production, Kamikaze Douga+ ANIMA, Kinema Citrus, Polygon Pictures, Production I.G, Project Studio Q, TRIGGER and WIT Studio.

Star Wars: Visions will return in 2025.
