Kristen Stewart and Alia Shawkat to lead The Wrong Girl

February 20, 2025 by Ricky Church

Kristen Stewart (Love Lies Bleeding) and Alia Shawkat (Blink Twice) are leading Dylan Meyer’s feature film debut The Wrong Girl, which began production in Los Angeles last week from Neon.

The film follows “Frankie (Stewart) and Molly (Shawkat), codependent best friends living paycheck to paycheck and bong rip to bong rip, when a case of mistaken identity throws their lives into chaos.”

Starring alongside the pair are Seth Rogen (Dumb Money), Kumail Nanjiani (Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire), LaKeith Stanfield (The Changeling), Zack Fox (Abbott Elementary) and Shawkat’s Arrested Development co-star Tony Hale.

Also set for the film are Philadelphia punk band Mannequin Pussy, who will “bring their explosive energy to the film with a live performance at a long-shuttered Los Angeles DIY space.”

Meyer previously wrote Moxie, which starred Hayley Robinson and Amy Poehler, and has been engaged to Stewart for the last few years. The Wrong Girls was written by Meyer and will be produced by her, Stewart and Maggie McLean for Nevermind Pictures with Rogen and Evan Goldberg for Point Grey.

The Wrong Girl is currently in production.
