DC Studios’ Supergirl movie begins to wrap production as new logo suggests shortened title

April 22, 2025 by Ricky Church

As we get closer and closer to the release of James Gunn’s Superman, it looks like filming is coming to a close on the second DC Universe feature film, as Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow star David Krumholtz has revealed that he has wrapped production with a social post featuring the film’s potential logo, which suggests that the subtitle Woman of Tomorrow may have been dropped.

Krumholtz will play Kara Zor-el/Supergirl’s father Zor-El in the upcoming superhero film. In an Instagram post, he wrote “Wrapped! Incredible experience working on #Supergirl with @millyalcock @emily_beecham Thanks, Craig Gillespie, Peter Safran & @jamesgunn and an absolutely incredible London based cast & crew! @dcofficial.”

The pictures he shared were of his cast set chair with the logo printed on one side lacking the subtitle. While the film is based on the graphic novel Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow by Tom King and Bilquis Evely, this would not be the first time Gunn will have shortened a film’s title as Superman was originally going by Superman: Legacy before dropping the subtitle for simplicity purposes as the first film of the new DC cinematic franchise.
