Bohemia Interactive has released Update 1.28 for DayZ on Xbox, Playstation and PC. This latest update introduces a range of new features based on community feedback during the experimental phase, including dynamic world events, expanded weaponry and more.
There are plenty of tweaks, additions and changes to DayZ with this latest update. Players may notice enhanced weapon handling during combat and new firearm sounds for every shot fired. Players journeying around Sakhal by vehicle will enjoy the improved car physics. This new update has a bit of something to please every survivor in Sakhal’s harsh wilderness.
Dynamic events arrive with this update that brings a major boost in activity to the island. Players will see more patrol boats, both fishing and military appearing along the coastline and these will offer more loot, potentially valuable loot. There will also be ambulance wrecks found along the main roads that provide a range of basic medical equipment, but also plenty of infected. Players also have the opportunity to spot helicopter crash sites across the Shantar Island and Burukan Peninsula, along with strange activity around the hot springs zones.
Two new weapons arrive – the R12 semi-automatic shotgun, with robust attachment options, and the the RAK 37, a .380 calibre SMG that can use both 15- and 25-round magazines. There’s also the arrival of three new scope options: the long-range Marksman scope, the updated PSO-6 and a low-magnification Sportpoint sight. Players will notice that scope overlays will support damage states and illuminated reticles, and the rangefinder overlay has had a visual overhaul.
When it comes to driving, players will be able to enjoy a less bouncy or floaty vehicle, thanks to a complete overhaul of client-server vehicle synchronisation. Engine sounds have also been improved to refine the sounds over multiple distances.
