At the Gamescom Opening Night Live event, Dotemu and indie studio Alt Shift unveiled Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes, a new interactive game based on the hit franchise. The game, coming in early 2026, will offer players a roguelite experience where they will have to ensure the survival of what remains of the Twelve Colonies. Watch the new trailer below….
Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes puts players in command of the fleet of human ships fleeing annihilation by the Cylons. To ensure the survival of the fleet, players will need to reach the mighty Colonial capital ship known as the Battlestar Galactica. This is a task that is easier said than done, as players must endure Cylon attacks, prevent political dissent and in-fleet disputes dividing the forces, and also identify impostors that could be hiding among the survivors.
To ensure the fleet reaches the Galactica, players will need to make many difficult choices, which will bring a variety of challenges, such as finding planets or galactic points of interest, resource use, upgrading their forces, and crew use between attacks. With every turn and action made, the Cylons get a step closer.
Combat with the Cylons will focus on survival and escape. Players will be able to deploy the trusty Viper ships and direct them in real-time combat, with the hope of defeating or delaying the Cylons until escaping to another sector of the galaxy is possible. The capital ship’s defences can also be used against greater dangers.
Each run through the game allows players to adapt to surviving the onslaught by the Cylons. It also provides opportunities to unlock additional squadrons, weapons, and traits, as well as meta upgrades that will benefit future runs.
