Warhammer 40,000: Darktide reveals next character class

November 19, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Fatshark has revealed the next class coming to Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, and this one comes kicking and screaming from the depths of the Hive. The Hive Scum class arrives on all platforms on 2nd December and leaves destruction and carnage in their wake. Watch the new trailer below to meet this new class.

The Hive Scum are dangerous individuals who represent the criminal powers that are rumoured to run the Hive city of Tertium. They fight dirty, leave no survivors, and excel at dual-wielding blades and guns.

For the first time in Darktide, the Hive Scum are a class that brings dual-wield expertise; they can use pistols to deliver plenty of firepower and then wield two shivs to take out their enemies when they get up close and personal. Being from the depths of the Hive, they are great at makeshift weaponry such as crude shivs, crowbars, and are capable with autopistols and stub-pistols.

The Hive Scum have access to dubious chemical concoctions and players will be able to pick their own personal chemical mix as a customisable stimm. They can also coat their weapons in toxic chemicals to cause maximum damage.

Players will be able to match their playstyle and make their character a hyper-aggressive hybridfighter, a specialist in ranged firepower, or an expert in brawling, thanks to the Hive Scum talent tree.

If that wasn’t enough, players can customise their character with a range of full‑body tattoos, gritty hairstyles and face paints. Plus, there are six different voices to choose from.

The Hive Scum DLC arrives on all platforms on 2nd December.
