Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood director Quentin Tarantino has been famously against making sequels to his films throughout his career and has handed the reins to David Fincher, reuniting with Pitt after their work on Se7en, Fight Club and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Tarantino is not completely uninvolved in the film though as he wrote its screenplay and is also among its producers.
