New Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them sneak peek to be unveiled at 2016 MTV Movie Awards

April 5, 2016 by Justin Cook

While the first teaser trailer for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the J.K. Rowling penned Harry Potter spinoff/prequel, served as a nice preview of what fans of the book can expect from the film, it showed off a surprisingly small amount of footage and fans immediately wanted more. But now, according to MTV, four months after the teaser’s release, fans will finally be getting more, as a brand new sneak peek of the film is set to debut at the 2016 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday, April 10th.

Oscar-winning actor Eddie Redmayne, who plays the lead protagonist Newt Scamander, will apparently head up onstage to unveil the never-before-seen footage. In addition to him, Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Cara Delevingne and Jared Leto are set to show off an exclusive Suicide Squad clip, as is Chris Evans with Captain America: Civil War.

A long list of great talents have agreed to present awards at the show, including Olivia Munn, Jessica Chastain, Zac Efron, Seth Rogen, Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron and more. Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart, stars of the upcoming comedy Central Intelligence, will host the event.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.

“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” stars Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne (“The Theory of Everything”), Katherine Waterston (“Steve Jobs,” “Inherent Vice”) as Tina; Tony Award winner Dan Fogler (“The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee”) as Jacob; Alison Sudol (“Dig,” “Transparent”) as Tina’s sister, Queenie; Ezra Miller (“Trainwreck”) as Credence; two-time Oscar nominee Samantha Morton (“In America,” “Sweet and Lowdown”) as Mary Lou; Oscar winner Jon Voight (“Coming Home,” TV’s “Ray Donovan”) as Henry Shaw, Sr.; Ron Perlman (the “Hellboy” films) as Gnarlack; Carmen Ejogo (“Selma”) as Seraphina; Jenn Murray (“Brooklyn”) as Chastity; young newcomer Faith Wood-Blagrove as Modesty; and Colin Farrell (“True Detective”) as Percival Graves.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is set for release on November 18th.
