Variety is reporting that Godzilla and Avengers: Age of Ultron star Aaron Taylor-Johnson is being lined up to take the lead role in upcoming Amazon thriller The Wall.
The Wall, which will be the first original film created by Amazon Studios, is being directed by Doug Liman (Edge of Tomorrow) from a script by Dwain Worell (Operator) and reportedly centres on “an American sharpshooter who is trapped in a standoff with an Iraqi sniper.” Amazon snapped up the rights to the story after it had appeared on the Black List back in 2014.
Taylor-Johnson will soon be seen in director Tom Ford’s Nocturnal Animals alongside Jake Gyllenhaal, Michael Shannon and Amy Adams. Liman currently remains attached to Fox’s delayed X-Men spinoff Gambit and could also return for the sci-fi sequel Edge of Tomorrow 2.
