Lady Gaga joins Bradley Cooper in A Star is Born remake

August 17, 2016 by Amie Cranswick

Back in March it was revealed that Bradley Cooper is set to make his directorial debut with a remake of the classic musical A Star is Born, and now it has been announced that he’ll be joined in the cast by Lady Gaga, who is also set to compose and perform new music for the Warner Bros. film.

“For those of us lucky enough to watch him work as an actor and producer, it has been clear that Bradley would make this transition to director,” states Warner Bros president of Creative Development and WW Production Greg Silverman. “We are honored that he is doing it, here, at his home—Warner Bros.—and with Lady Gaga as a collaborator and co-star. The world is in for a treat as these great artists craft an all new vision of A Star is Born.”

First released in 1937 with Frederic March and Janet Gaynor starring, A Star is Born has since been remade twice, with 1954’s classic featuring Judy Garland and James Mason, and in 1976 with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson.
