Following the release of his latest film Chappie, Neill Blomkamp moved into development on his Alien sequel, only for 20th Century Fox to apply the brakes when Ridley Scott decided to return to his Alien universe for the Prometheus follow-up Alien: Covenant.
So, with Alien 5 now on indefinite hold, the South African filmmaker has moved on to other things, and he’s taken to Instagram to tease a new mystery project, posting the following image with the caption “working on new things. Currently not alien”:
Now, it’s unclear whether the above image relates to a movie, or a TV project, but it’s probably safe to assume that Sharlto Copley will be involved somehow. And maybe an exosuit or two.
