Vin Diesel reportedly wants to bring Paul Walker’s character Brian O’Conner back to the Fast & Furious franchise

September 17, 2016 by Gary Collinson

When Fast & Furious returns for its eighth instalment next year, one notable absence from the ensemble will be Paul Walker, who sadly passed away during production on Fast & Furious 7 back in 2013.

However, according to Walker’s brothers Cody and Caleb – who stepped in to help complete production on on Furious 7 – Vin Diesel is keen to bring back the character of Brian O’Conner for a brief cameo in a future sequel.

“I had a phone call with Vin for about an hour and we really discussed this a while back. He wanted [our] blessing [whether] it would be acceptable to maybe bring Paul’s character back… to really kind of let his fans know he’s still out there,” said Caleb in an interview with ET, with Cody adding “Universal wants to make sure to be respectful of Paul and his image too, and his family.”

How would you feel about Universal bringing back Walker’s character for another appearance in the franchise? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…

Fast & Furious 8 is set for release on April 14th 2017, followed by Fast & Furious 9 on April 19th 2019 and Fast & Furious 10 on April 2nd 2021.
