Joe Manganiello shares his research for Deathstroke role in the Batman movie

September 28, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Earlier this month it was announced that Joe Manganiello is set to portray the DC supervillain Deathstroke in Ben Affleck’s Batman movie, and now the actor has taken to Twitter to reveal that he’s started his research for the role of Slade Wilson.

Not really sure how much use those Pop! Vinyl figures are going to be, but he does have some interesting comics there, including Batman: Earth One, which doesn’t actually feature the character of Deathstroke, but may provide some indication as to the tone of the movie.

The solo Batman movie will be directed by Ben Affleck, who’s writing the script with DC Films chief Geoff Johns, as well as reprising the role of the Dark Knight. As yet, it doesn’t have a release date, but Time-Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes was quoted this week as stating that it’s “a year and a half out”, presumably from starting production.
