Game of Thrones season 7 will see airplane-sized dragons

March 16, 2017 by Samuel Brace

The upcoming seventh season of HBO drama Game of Thrones will feature dragons that are the size of airplanes.

The penultimate season of the hit fantasy epic Game of Thrones is nearly here. With a delayed release as compared to previous seasons, the show is due to return this July to continue the saga that started way back in 2011.

Of course speculation is rife for the series; the usual Game of Thrones predictions are out there in full force. One thing we won’t have to predict however is the size of Daenerys’ dragons.

It’s always a nice little aside to see just how much the deadly creatures grow from season to season, and this time round they will be quite the sight indeed.

Game of Thrones director Matt Shankman teased the enormity of the beasts in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, stating: “The dragons this year are the size of 747s. Drogon is the biggest of the bunch — his flame is 30-feet in diameter!”

So not only are Dany’s babies now the size of airplanes, but Drogon’s breath is going to be devastating. Look out Westeros.
