Arnold Schwarzenegger says Twins sequel Triplets is still moving ahead and could shoot this year

April 8, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Arnold Schwarzenegger hasn’t had the best of luck with sequels lately. Paramount pulled the plug on its planned Terminator Genisys follow-up, The Legend of Conan has been abandoned, Arnold said he’ll not return for The Expendables 4 without Sylvester Stallone, and he also revealed he passed on the opportunity to reprise the role of Dutch in The Predator.

Well, it seems we may still see the action icon returning to one of his former roles, with Schwarzenegger telling EW that the long-gestating Twins follow-up Triplets is still moving ahead and could start shoot by the end of the year:

“We are just now working on Triplets,” said Schwarzenegger. “That is on top of the list, for me. Because I’ve been trying to do that for 20 years. Ivan Reitman (the director of Twins) believes in it. Danny DeVito believes in it — who always believed in it — and Eddie Murphy believes in it. It’s going to be terrific! So, we are looking forward to that.”

Of course, it may be top of Arnold’s list due to the fact that virtually everything else on his slate has fallen apart…

Are you excited about the prospect of Triplets? Will it ever escape development hell? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…
