It looks like FX’s acclaimed anthology series Fargo could be coming to an end, with FX chief John Landgraf revealing to The Hollywood Reporter that the current third season may be its last.
“There may never be another Fargo,” said Landgraf .”Unless [creator Noah Hawley] has an idea for Fargo that he thinks he can make as good as the prior three. I think once people get to the end of this season they will find that it is thematically different. It’s really about the moment we live in now.”
The critically acclaimed show is based upon the Coen Brothers’ 1996 film of the same name, and has received a host of accolades including two Golden Globes and five Primetime Emmy Awards.
Creator Noah Hawley is currently working on the second season of FX’s X-Men series Legion, and is also developing the feature film projects Pale Blue Dot and Buried Bodies at Fox Searchlight.
