Rumour: James Bond Cinematic Universe being considered

June 30, 2017 by Gary Collinson

We’ve got the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the DC Extended Universe, the Dark Universe, the MonsterVerse, The Conjuring Universe, and if rumours are to be believed, we may soon be able to add the James Bond Universe to the ever expanding list.

Now, this should probably be taken with a pinch of salt, but according to The Tracking Board’s Jeff Sneider, “I’ve heard the Broccolis have caught Universe Fever and would love to explore other corners of the Bond franchise…simultaneously.”

This wouldn’t be the first time that there’s been talk of expanding the James Bond franchise beyond 007; back in 2002, it was reported that the producers were looking to launch a spinoff from Die Another Day centred around Halle Berry’s Jinx, but the project never come to fruition.

There is of course plenty of possibilities for Bond spinoffs, such as CIA operative Felix Leiter, MI6’s other 00 agents, or perhaps even James Bond Jr.! That being said, given that EON still hasn’t managed to sort out who’ll be portraying 007 in Bond 25, the producers may have more pressing matters to attend to at the moment.
