Exclusive interview with Harry Treadaway on Mr. Mercedes

July 31, 2017 by Tai Freligh

Tai Freligh interviews Harry Treadaway from Mr. Mercedes…

Harry Treadaway (Penny Dreadful, The Lone Ranger) plays Brady Hartsfield in Mr. Mercedes, the television show based on the Stephen King novel of the same name. Tai Freligh with Flickering Myth interviewed him at Comic-Con 2017 and asked him about his character on the show, hiding his British accent and comparing his character on Penny Dreadful to his character on Mr. Mercedes.

Here he talks about speaking with an American accent in the show. He’s British.

Here he talks about his character in the show.

Here he talks about his character on Penny Dreadful versus his character on Mr. Mercedes.

Here he talks about reading the first and second books in the trilogy as source material for his character.

Here he talks about the chances of a second season of the show based on the second book in the trilogy.

From Executive Producers Stephen King, David E. Kelley and Jack Bender comes the story of a demented serial killer who taunts a retired police detective with a series of lurid letters and emails. This forces the ex-cop to undertake a private, and potentially felonious, crusade to bring the killer to justice before he can strike again.

Brendan Gleeson (Harry Potter) plays Detective Bill Hodges alongside Harry Treadaway (Penny Dreadful) as Brady Hartsfield, Jharrel Jerome (Moonlight) as Jerome Robinson, Scott Lawrence (Avatar) as Detective Peter Dixon, Robert Stanton (Mercury Rising) as Anthony “Robi” Frobisher, Ann Cusack (Nightcrawler) as Olivia Trelawney, Mary-Louise Parker (Weeds) as Janey Patterson and Holland Taylor (The Truman Show) as Ida Silver. They join the previously announced Kelly Lynch (Magic City) as Deborah Hartsfield, Justine Lupe (Harry’s Law) as Holly Gibney and Breeda Wool (uNREAL) as Lou Linklatter.

Mr. Mercedes is set to premiere on August 9th.

Tai Freligh is a Los Angeles based writer and can be found on Twitter.
