First look at Dave Bautista in Ip Man spinoff Master Z

March 19, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Thanks to THR, we’ve got a first look image of Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista in Master Z: The Ip Man Legacy, an upcoming spinoff from Donnie Yen’s hugely-successful Ip Man martial arts franchise.

Master Z: The Ip Man Legacy is being directed by Yuen Woo-ping, whose credits include Snake in the Eagle’s Shadow, Drunken Master, Tai-Chi Master and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny.

The title is being produced and distributed through Mandarin Motion Pictures, a new company established by veteran Hong Kong film producer Raymond Wong. Other titles in Mandarin’s slate include the Donnie Yen-headlined Ip Man 4, Fruit Chan’s action-crime drama Invincible Dragon, crime thrillers L Storm and P Storm, prison dramas The Revenging Trio and Women in Grid, and horror films Lucid Dreams and The Lingering.

Bautista will next be seen on the big screen this April as he reprises the role of Drax the Destroyer for Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War.
