Liam Hemsworth reportedly offered role in Independence Day 2

January 27, 2015 by Scott J. Davis

The Wrap is reporting this evening that multiple sources close to the long-awaited sequel to Independence Day, entitled ID Forever, have suggested that The Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth has been offered a role in the film.

Roland Emmerich returns to direct the sequel, which has had few drafts of the script written by James Vanderbilt (The Amazing Spider-Man) and Carter Blanchard (Glimmer), and will be produced by Emmerich regulars Dean Devlin and Harald Kloser.

Will Smith turned down the chance to reprise his role as Captain Steven Hiller, but Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman are set to reprise their roles from the original, which grossed $810 million worldwide back in 1996. The Fantastic Four star Michael B. Jordan has also been rumoured to be involved, but there’s been no official word on his casting.

What do you think to the potential casting of Liam Hemsworth? Join the debate in the comments section below…
