Marvel reimagines The Infinity Gauntlet with new Secret Wars tie-in

February 17, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Prior to the big Secret Wars announcement, Marvel dropped a series of posters revealing that we’d be revisiting some of the publisher’s best-loved story arcs this summer – which of course we now know will pave the way for a reboot of the Marvel universe.

We’ve already seen previews for the reimagined Inferno, Planet Hulk and Old Man Logan, and now thanks to Hero Complex we’ve got our first look at The Infinity Gauntlet, from the creative team of Gerry Duggan (Deadpool) and Dustin Weaver (Edge of Spider-Verse)…

“I’ve been a fan of Jim Starlin’s since buying his comics off of spinner racks as a kid”, states Duggan. “He’s been a big time influence on me. The difference here is that this version of the Mad Titan is a little bit more mysterious…and our heroes don’t know to fear the name Thanos.”

“This is a more grizzled version of the character,” adds Weaver. “He caries the weight of his experiences. He’s colder, more mysterious, and impenetrable. But you can be certain, some things about Thanos will never change.”
