Wally West to feature in The Flash

March 16, 2015 by Luke Owen

For fans of The Flash wondering if we would ever see Wally West in the show can breathe a deep sigh of relief this morning, as it looks like they’re about to get their wish.

“That’s our hope,” showrunner Greg Berlanti responded when asked if Wally West could feature in The Flash. “And we’ve already been picked up for a second season so I think if we were going to do something like that, we would do it next season.”

This is not the first time Berlanti has teased the appearance of Wally West in The Flash, saying back in September that there was a reason why they decided to make Iris and Joe West African-American. They also added that The Flash TV show is the reason Kid Flash is now African-American in DC’s New 52.

“What’s very cool is in the New 52 they hadn’t reintroduced Wally [yet],” Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg said last September, noting that because DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns was working on the show, “when they reintroduced Wally, they made him African-American. So now and forever, Kid Flash will be African-American.”
