A24 erotic drama The Governesses enlists Lily-Rose Depp, HoYeon and Renate Reinsve

April 16, 2022 by Gary Collinson

Lily-Rose Depp (Wolf), HoYeon (Squid Game) and Renate Reinsve (The Worst Person in the World) have been cast in The Governesses, an erotic drama from A24 and director Joe Talbot (The Last Black Man in San Francisco).

Based on the novel of the same name by Anne Serre, the film see Depp, HoYeon and Reinsve as “three rebellious governesses who upend the household they work in—inspiriting the minds of the boys in their care, igniting the imaginations of the bohemian couple who employ them and abandoning their charges for erotic adventures.”

The Governesses film reunites Talbot with A24, which produced and distributed his debut film, and he will write the script alongside Olivia Gatwood (Life of the Party) as well as directing. A24 is co-financing with BBC Film, and production is set to take place in Spain.
