Anna Paquin open to X-Men return as Rogue

December 3, 2015 by Gary Collinson

With Fox introducing younger versions of much of its X-Men roster with Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Apocalypse and Hugh Jackman hanging up the claws with the third Wolverine movie, it looks like we may have seen the last of the original trilogy cast members in X-Men: Days of Future Past. Nevertheless, Anna Paquin has revealed that she’s interested in returning as Rogue, should the opportunity present itself in the future.

“I have had a great time on all of those films that I’ve been part of. Those are people that are very dear to me,” Paquin tells IGN. “If it happens that that’s something that makes sense for whichever of the 700 different X-Men projects that are happening which I personally can’t keep track of then that’s great. If not, they’re still fun to watch.”

Paquin also clarified her recent comments on social media that she’d reprise the role if Rogue could fly: “Look, I’ve always said that. I’ve been saying that since they cast me when I was 16 — like, ‘Do I get to fly?’ I made some flippant remark on Twitter about if I get to fly that was like breaking news. I’m like, OK, oh for god’s sake. Humor doesn’t translate that well in written word.”

Would you like to see more of Paquin and the original X-Men cast or should Fox continue to focus on the younger generation?
